Monte Rio Wines, an Italian wine distribution company specializing in supplies fine Wine from North Italy regions. Our aim is to make known the excellent wines produced by small artisan with a passion for their work. Passion that can not be found in large companies of course. Their activity is based on the work of the individual family that takes care of all phases of production from hand-picking to the final bottling. All works are carried out on the estate vineyards and refined directly into their cellars. Most of the companies we represent are small wine producers, which in most vineyards with lead extensions from 3 to 15 hectares. These small wineries are family owned as to say, one family one brand. The passion that these households devote to their vineyards produce qualitative results of absolute excellence. Much appreciated by those who have the possibility to locally taste the result of this passion. Monte Rio Wines select wines after assiduous visits to the terroir, the cellar, the processing methods of vinification, tasted the wines and discussing about characteristics and attributes of the wines with the winemakers himself. The variety of our selection includes the most important areas of Northern Italy. You will find wines from Colli Piacentini (Gutturnio, Ortrugo just to mention the most important wine of this area), Oltrepò Pavese (the famous Riesling Italico and Spumante (Sparkling Wine) Metodo Classico, Piedmont wines such as white Gavi, Dolcetto di Ovada, Barbera del Monferrato, Moscato d'Asti, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbaresco, Barolo and Nebbiolo of the Langhe. The Franciacorta sparkling wine and a selection of the best wines of the Veneto; Custoza, Bardolino, Amarone, Valpolicella, Chiaretto, my favorite Soave Classico and a prestigious DOC Prosecco of Valdobbiadene. We wanted to include some typical and well-known wines of our Emilia Romagna region such Lambrusto Grasparossa di Castelvetro, Lambrusco di Sorbara and the well known Sangiovese di Romagna. From province of Modena we selected a great distiller (Pregio) of liqueurs and grappa. This distiller offer a very popular as a digestive liquor called Nocino di Modena (walnut liqueur), Grappa and, although a little off topic, Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
