Struzziero Winery of Venticano (AV), founded in 1920 by Elisario Struzziero, has always believed in the philosophy of quality, also taking advantage of its favorable position, right in the center of the Taurasi production area. Here the hand-picked grapes are harvested, followed by pressing and vinification; then in the cellar follows the careful selection of products and bottling according to quality criteria always followed by the Company. With the start, in 1970, of the production of the Greco di Tufo and Taurasi DOC wines by the current owner Giovanni Struzziero, the first awards came especially abroad (The Wine Spectator, The Italian Wine Competition), while since 1989, with the entry into the company as a winemaker of his son, Mario Struzziero, the selection and control of production continues, from the vineyard to winemaking and bottling. In 1994 the production of Spumante Brut Metodo Classico DOC Greco di Tufo began, while in 1998 the entire production complex was modernized with a new barrel and a computerized bottling line with an hourly production of 3,000 bottles. Today the Struzziero family can boast 13 hectares of vineyards such as Fiano "Vignapezze" and "Cerreto", Taurasi "Campoceraso", Greco "Villagiulia" and Irpinia Falanghina Doc. Yinitaly 2015: the British select two white wines from the Struzziero Winery of Venticano (AV), the Falanghina "Vigna dell'Angelo" and the Greek "Villagiulia". Operators from overseas want to check the 2014 technical data sheets, Mario Struzziero takes the first flight to London, and now the two wines appear in the choices of Buckingham Palace, the English royal residence. But we know better the Struzziero Cru, award-winning at Vinitaly (where the company has been present for over forty years): the Taurasi Docg "Campoceraso", worked with traditional maceration and with malolactic fermentation, is aged in oak barrels for at least 36 months . Bottle aging for about six months. Aging resistance is at least 25 years. With a bright, intense garnet red color, with orange reflections, it offers an intense smell with hints of spices and vanilla. The taste is soft, persistent with full and round aftertaste. The Greco di Tufo Docg "Villagiulia" is vinified in white with fermentation thermoconditioning. With a bright straw color, it has a well-marked broad smell of characteristic peach and pink fruitiness. The taste is dry but lively harmonious with an elegant persistent fruity background. The Fiano di Avellino Docg "Vignapezze" is worked with soft pressing and controlled fermentation. It is bottled in the month of March following the harvest. Resistance to aging for at least 10 years. Bright, intense straw color, it has an intense smell, with hints of apricots. Unmistakable, soft, persistent flavor with full and aromatic aftertaste.
