12th November, 2014 by Neal Baker - The Glen Moray Distillery has released the latest expression of its Speyside Single Malt range – the Glen Moray Classic Port Cask Finish.

The Classic Port Cask Finish is a small batch release single malt, matured in American oak barrels and finished for eight months in Port pipes sourced from Gran Cruz in the Douro Valley.

The resulting whisky combines the Glen Moray Classic Single Malt with the spicy, plum, wine-like elements from the port pipes, according to the producer.

Master distiller Graham Coull, said of the release, “The rich wine flavours have combined with vanilla oak notes to produce a whisky which is well balanced and full of character, with a lingering finish of honey sweetness combined with spices and subtle hints of dark chocolate and leather.”
