18th November, 2014 by Gabriel Stone - Accolade Wines has confirmed that it is in “exclusive discussions” to buy Grant Burge Wines, the latest sign of consolidation taking place within Australia’s wine industry.

grant burgeThe company, whose portfolio includes Hardys and Banrock Station among others, released a statement to confirm its interest in the Barossa producer, but added: “There is no guarantee that a final agreement will be reached as a result of the discussions.”

The move comes within weeks of another major Australian producer, Casella Family Wines, moving to acquire a majority stake in Barossa business Peter Lehmann Wines.
